Artist's Statement

Being an aspiring animator is a role I take pride in. I create animation to inspire audiences and connect with others through my own interpretation of the “illusion of Life.” I am drawn to storytelling that allows viewers to see themselves reflected in characters, worlds, and emotions brought to life through movement.

My artistic influences come from story-driven animated and interactive media like SpongeBob SquarePants, God of War, Batman, and South Park (I could go on forever). These works inspire me through their expressive content, emotional range, and ability to balance action with character-driven narratives.

What drives my work is how animation has personally supported me, helping me develop communication skills, connect with others, and approach life with curiosity and creativity. I learned from SpongeBob that people can react to us in different ways, but that should not prevent us from changing who we are; it only means we should adjust how we respond to their demeanor. Animation can reflect someone’s well-being by evoking excitement, calm, melodrama, or anticipation through visual storytelling.

I am first drawn to animated content by its visual impact and sense of movement. I examine how action and reaction work together within motion and story development, believing that every movement adds to the story being told. These cause-and-effect moments strengthen both the emotional and visual aspects of animation.

While I prefer traditional pencil-and-paper animation, I also use Adobe software to improve and refine my work. I keep studying animation tools, styles, and media, both inside and outside the industry, always aiming to grow as an artist.

While my creative journey involves constant adaptation, each step offers a chance to learn, grow, and deepen my commitment to creating animated worlds that inspire and connect with others.
